Last day of the Holidays

Enjoying a nice Brown Brothers Moscato Rosa on the last day of a great 2 weeks vacation - time with friends, golf, boat and lots of time in the pool....hate to see it end.

Death Adder

This death Adder was found by Toby in our back yard near the pool last night.  Jeff identified it quickly and called a friend who collects snakes to come a rescue it before I took the shovel to it.  The Death Adder is one of the most venomous snakes in the world.  It reminded me that despite how beautiful Australia is, it does have some nastiness associated with it.

Rugby Season - IT'S ON

Rugby, rugby, rugby - Jeff is coaching and on occassion a referee. Jamie is playing for Newington and Petersham Club team under 11's. Mom is Petersham's team photographer and at times very loud on the side line...it ain't hockey!

Australia - A Harsh Country

As you all know, Australia has had it's fair share of disasters lately. With the floods in Queensland and Victoria in January, Cyclone Yasi hitting Far North Queensland last week and now more floods in Queensland and a raging bush fire threatening the northern suburbs of Perth.

With all of the beauties Australia has to offer, her frequency of reminders of the harshness of this land again demands our attention and respect.

Gala Night

Our annual work Kick-off conference was held this year on the Sunshine Coast.  It was a very long week but the grand finale is the Gala Night....a night of looking your best and in addition, I have the pleasure of being able to directly participate in recognising some of our high achievers.

Swimming Carnival

This is the time of year when the school's swim squad participates in swimming carnivals.  Jamie has had the priviledge of representing his school at these events for the last 2 years.  This year he placed 4th in 50 meter freestyle and 2nd in the freestyle relay.

Year End Strings Concert

This year Jamie started music with playing the French Horn.  Mid-year he wanted to give it the flick (and I was ok with that) and went back to the cello.  He has been playing cello for 3 years now in total and seems to like it.  The only issue with him is the practise...hates it!

A Day at the Beach

We had a great day at the beach a few weeks ago.  Tobey was in and out of the water as a good Lab would do and Jamie speni more time in the sand than the water.
